Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page.

on Saturday 11th September 2021 we will be setting off from Putney Bridge and walking along the River Thames hoping to cover 100kms and finishing at Henley on Thames.

The Pilgrims Hospice is a wonderful local charity close to our hearts that provides care and support to those living with a terminal illness and their families

.Both of us have close connections to the hospice and Gemma and her family spent a lot of time there back in January 2019 whilst the looked after her dad as he passed away. The care didn't stop there though and they offered great support and counselling to the family after.

At its heart, Pilgrims is dedicated to providing skilled and compassionate care, free of charge, to people living with an incurable illness in east Kent. Their vision is that people with a life-limiting illness are supported and empowered to live well in mind & body, making the most of the time they have. They care for over 2,500 patients a year, at their 3 inpatient units in Canterbury, Thanet & Ashford, their therapy centres, or in patients’ own homes. With 80% of their funding being voluntary contributions, your support cannot be overstated.
