2019 has been a tough year for this little 6 year old. The passing of her Grandad and Great Nanny Viola has left her mind questioning so much about life, and overwhelming as it all is, she’s still our Smiley Mileigh

 Mileigh will be taking part in Canterbury’s 5 mile night to shine walk on Friday 20th September and then a 5 km colour run on Sunday 20th October raising funds for The Pilgrims Hospice in memory of her Grandad Johnny and her Great Nanny Viola.

Grandad was cared for in the Canterbury Pilgrims hospice and Mileigh spent a lot of time there. Even though dad passed away there, Mileigh holds only happy memories of her Grandad there and this plays a crucial part in her understanding of sickness and death. Her great Nan Viola was also having treatment for cancer and if the circumstances had been different she too would have had hospice care.

Again Nanny Viola spent a lot of time at the hospice with her boy and Mileigh would like to raise some money to thank them for looking after not only her Grandad so well but giving us as a family a haven to make the most of Dads final weeks and a place where we were able to create everlasting memories.
